The Postal Service at the Cedar Park Center. 6/2/13 Smeared Black Ink: the first words of “Give Up” and the first words of The Postal Service’s performance Sunday night at the Cedar Park Center just north of Austin. “Thank you all for coming out to see us⦠especially after all these years” said Gibbard, I waited 10 years to watch one of my favorite albums be performed and I was not disappointed. From their voices to the beats to the lighting, it was awesome, and all without anything outrageous happening to my face. They had started the set with with “The District Sleeps Alone Tonight” that was accented at the end with Gibbard hopping on a drum kit, which they used sparingly throughout the set. The lighting was phenomenal, during “There’s Never Enough Time” the staged looked the way the song sounds: like 8bit bubbles.
